Palyt exists to give every restaurant an unfair advantage. We believe the data to run a more profitable restaurant already exists in every order, every menu item, and every customer visit. It just isn't being used. Our mission is to make revenue optimization accessible, automated, and measurable for every food and beverage establishment, starting with India and expanding globally.
The Problem We Solve
75% of restaurants can't track profitability at the item level. Food costs eat 28-32% of revenue, but owners don't know which dishes make money and which ones quietly lose it. Upselling depends entirely on overworked staff. Customer retention is a guessing game. The result: over a lakh per month in revenue left on the table for a single mid-sized restaurant. Existing tools like POS systems and QR ordering platforms show what sold yesterday but don't tell you what to do about it. Palyt does.
What We Do
Palyt is an AI-first revenue optimization platform for restaurants. We connect to existing POS and QR ordering systems to collect order data, then our AI analyses every menu item for profitability and popularity, surfaces profit leaks, and generates one-tap actions: adjust a price, feature a high-margin dish, create a combo, launch a targeted offer. On the customer side, our recommendation engine builds per-guest taste profiles and personalises the digital menu to nudge customers toward dishes they'll love that also grow the restaurant's margin. Everything is measured over 28 days so owners can see exactly what worked.
Business Model
We operate on a SaaS subscription model with performance-aligned pricing. Restaurants pay a monthly subscription for menu intelligence, analytics, and loyalty tools. On top of that, AI-powered upselling through our QR-based ordering system earns a commission only on the incremental revenue Palyt creates. This means we only earn more when our restaurants earn more. Free setup, no contracts, cancel anytime.
Our Origin
Palyt was born from a simple observation: restaurants pour their soul into a menu, but have no way to know if it's actually working. Co-founder Aayush Sahu spent four years at The Oberoi Group advising India's top restaurant owners on operations and profitability. Co-founder Vishnu Mohan spent over two years at Harvard IACS building applied AI systems. When they met, the overlap was obvious: the restaurant industry was drowning in data it couldn't use, and modern AI could change that. They built Palyt to be the intelligence layer restaurants never had.
Where We Are
Palyt is currently in beta with 20+ restaurants on our waitlist across Jaipur and Bangalore. We are raising a pre-seed round to onboard our first 100 restaurant partners and prove unit economics at scale. Our initial focus is tech-enabled casual dining and cafe establishments in Indian metros, with a clear expansion path to Tier 2 cities, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
